Tenants and Occupants

Frequently
asked questions

What can I store in my unit?

You can store almost anything you want in your unit. But there are a few things
you cannot store, and these include: jewelry, heirlooms, art, collectibles,
antiques, as well as food, combustibles (including e-bikes and the like), and
illegal items.

How do I pay rent?

We use ACH to process payments directly from your bank. You sign up for ACH
payments at the time of your rental and can make updates to your account
online.

How do I move out?

Make sure that your unit is completely empty and that the lock is removed then
just call or email us to let us know that you are fully out of your unit. Make sure to
include your name, unit number, and building address to avoid any issues.

How do I rent a unit?

Please call us at (718) 247-7000 and we will help you get started!

How do I get an additional key for the storage room?

Please call us at (718) 247-7000 and we will be happy to help with that.

Can I share with or transfer my unit to someone else?

No. Our units are non-transferrable and cannot be shared with other residents.
The unit must be vacated and then go to the next person on the waitlist. The new
owner or resident will need to secure their spot on the waitlist.

Who maintains the storage room?

We are in a partnership with the building wherein the building is responsible for
keeping the hallways clear and maintaining any building related items, and
Bargold ensures that the units are maintained in a safe and secure condition.

I experienced damage or loss to my items.

If you believe your unit was broken into, call the police and then call us
immediately. You’ll need to fill out an incident report with the police and catalog
everything that you feel is missing so that you can submit this along with your
insurance claim.

If you purchased insurance through our 3 rd party, please follow their claims
process which can be found at https://www.ESStorageclaims.com. If you opted to
self-insure then you will need to reach out to your insurance company to begin
the claim process.

Does Bargold insure my belongings?

No. As the Occupancy Agreement states Bargold does not carry any insurance
for your personal property. Bargold offers insurance through a 3rd party which
you can choose to purchase, or you need to have homeowners/renters’
insurance in place throughout your occupancy.
